One Million Women

A few weeks ago I presented a GIY-workshop at the One Million Women summit in Sydney. I did a quick garbled session on DIY fix-its with Bernie Hobbs. What we lacked in clarity we made up for in comedy. I love the whole idea behind this campaign.

So often, climate change campaigns and campaigners give the impression of being hard core and hairy. Unless you are a firm follower, it's hard to get motivated to get involved.

The One Million Women campaign is entirely different. It's a climate change campaign full to the brim with sensational women who are really driving action, motivating change and just doing stuff.

They are all funny, thoughtful, brilliant and beautiful. Headlining the day were Noni Hazelhurst, Layne Beachly, Katie Noonan and a whole bevy of women all speaking, reminding, singing and cooking (Julie Goodwin did a cracking session using up left-overs from her fridge).

I left it grinning from ear to ear. Sign up and become the next One Million Women woman.
